What Ever Happened to That Boston Snow Farm?

This past winter, as Boston weathered its way past one, two, three, four (and more) snowstorms, flakes continued to fall and our company made a bet. We took whiteboard markers and jotted down predictions on our window: when would the Tide Street snow farm sitting before us melt back down to ground level? Estimates for extinction ranged from May 20th through June. At the time, June felt so far. And yet, here we are in July, and the farm still exists! Reporters have discovered hubcaps, a baby carriage, lottery tickets, and plastic containers that used to be filled with shoveled snow. The New York Times interviewed our very own Tim Pedersen, who passes the dwindling pile (really now a hill of trash and mud – “pretty gross,” as Tim puts it) each day on his way to work.
